XCancer® in Africa

XCancer® in Africa

Earlier this year Dr. Luke Nordquist and his family traveled to Tanzania, Africa for the ground breaking of the Thomas Nordquist Cancer Hostel.

Dr. Nordquist’s son Thomas, spearheaded the fundraising needed to break ground on the hostel through the XCancer® Foundation. The hostel will house up to 24 families who are going through cancer treatments at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center in Moshi, Tanzania as well as establish a cancer research program.

With limited cancer facilities in Africa, let alone just Tanzania, this hostel will allow for families impacted by cancer to avoid relocation.

Tanzania, Africa, is a country of over 60 million people that only has three cancer centers in the entire country. Cancer patients in Africa experience an 80% death rate partially due to lack of access to facilities and the inability to catch the cancer before it spreads.

The XCancer® team has developed deep ties to the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center and looks forward to continuing their fundraising and relationship.

Not only will this cancer hostel be useful in Africa’s fight against cancer, but it will also keep families together and close to home.

The XCancer® Foundation is a 501c3 charitable organization with the mission of raising funds and awareness efforts in underserved regions of Africa. Head to our donation page to donate to support Africa’s fight against cancer.
